Breaking News: Nick Seitz Joins the Flames - Confirmed
GAME THREAD: Sheffield Steelers v Nottingham Panthers - Tuesday, 26th December 4pm
Moderator: Mods
Another excellent performance in how to win a hockey game by 4 goals!
We are head and shoulders above anyone in this league and I’ve seen us play all teams. Continue with this level of performance and we could win the league by a record number of points! It really is ours to throw away IMO.
Nottingham were no where near our level in this game and I suspect we had another gear available if required. Hopefully both teams will feel better playing each other now we have this game out of that way from the tragic events.
Well done lads, let’s keep this winning streak going. Great to see a sold out barn. Never seen the 50/50 break £15k either!
Bet there’s no media coverage though.

I'm glad that one is out of the way to be honest. I didn't know what to feel going to the arena, it didn't feel like a Boxing Day game.
Overall we were good for the win. They looked short on bodies and ideas as well.
It was nice to see Vally get a goal and us leading
a game again when rolling 5 D for 2 periods.
I hope not icing Whistle in the 3rd was precautionary, but at least we then dropped Shudra back, giving us 6 back there and gave Ulrick ice time with Simpson & some of the top 6 double shifting.
It lacked the bite of long past Boxing Day games, but a clinical professional performance.

Good win in a game that was always going to be a strange one but now its done,, As it stands at the moment i would gladly have any of this team back.. But greenfield and tansey my first two. Tansey my type of player a bit old school, no nonsense gritty physical player who can skate and play as well. Happy and entertained fan at the moment here

Steelers nowhere near their best but playing against a Panthers side that barely has one line of any comparable quality. Good win for us, we have frequently come undone on the Boxing day game.
This is a HUGE THANK YOU. to all of you for your unwavering support & messages, for showing huge respect to our team on entering the ice today.
It is most appreciated on what was a difficult day for all of us including yourselves. Our team are far from healed some worse than others & it may take many months but I truely hope they felt the love today . To us the scores don’t matter this season it’s a blessing they’re even on the ice.
See you all tomorrow, and once again Thank You. Elaine.

It was always going to be a difficult day for all involved, but particularly the Panthers players who were back on our ice for the first time in a competitive game.
I thought it was handled very well by all concerned. I was surprised to read a Panthers supporter on The Cage question the turn out by their supporters. All things considered with travel difficulties etc on Boxing Day, I thought it was a superb turnout.
As for the game itself, we were the better team and deserved the win. Pleased to see Vally get one, because he's been having plenty of shots with nothing finding the back of the net. Hopefully this will get him going.
A good night for Nevalainen who was our only player +2 on the night.
Regards
