It looks like Belfast are doing their best to reassemble last years team, which probably just reinforces how poor their recruitment was in the Summer.
David Goodwin returns to join Henrik Eriksson and Will Cullen, both mid-season returnees from last seasons squad.
Goodwin is effectively replacing Quinn Preston who has left for personal reasons. Goodwin will certainly bring a winning mentality and although not a goal scorer himself, he might get some of the other forwards firing. Preston will be a loss though, because he was the one forward who was finding the net for them on a regular basis.
I still think of the key players last season only Besko returned and he's had a bit of a stinker so far. Conway is the one who could really turn their season around, but he seems to be doing quite well in Slovakia so I doubt he'd want to return when he has the potential to go on to bigger and better leagues.
I also rated Ruopp, Bast and Owre, it will be interesting to see if any of those come back, although Owre is very unlikely because he's top scorer in the ICEHL.

Don't blame them, but it's too little too late for the League IMO.Doom wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 9:16 amIt looks like Belfast are doing their best to reassemble last years team, which probably just reinforces how poor their recruitment was in the Summer.

Didn't Besko come out of retirement to play for them last season? Perhaps this season is a season too far for him. They will of course be a huge threat for the playoffs.
