Former player and assistant coach Neil Abel has taken over as the new coach of the Steeldogs.

It's all been a bit of a mess at the Dogs recently, so this looks like a good call.

He is helping Steve out till end of season,If he has a say in things, he wont take any crap thats for sure, he will listen, put the arm around a few shoulders if he needs to, then tell em how it is... and take names and give them i choice...

He is there till end of season to advise and help out where needed, he has not been hired to be head coach, so he literally is there to help Steve sort the team issues and worries out and to help get them back to the hockey and not anything else that may be an issue.
