Speaking of the stream, I miss Ron Shudra's comments as co-commentator. It certainly doesn't feel value for money with just JF commentating on his own. The picture did appear to be better quality though.
Has he left permanently ?

Not knowing anything about the stream, I've always though Ron was just there to watch his lad play but Ron being Ron offered his services to help out on the stream with some colour commentary.

I'm not sure there's anything formal around it, but don't know. The stream is much better for him being on it I think.

Last I heard he was helping out on the family farm. Should be back soon.

I hope he does, from watching the highlights he adds a lot to the overall professionalism of the product.

Didn't make the game so I watched it on the stream, should have saved the £16! The game was a very poor watch up to the OT and pens! We just couldn't get into our rhythm! Giants played it very tight and never allowed us into the neutral zone with any speed. I think the face offs stats were oddly swung either way! Belfast had the majority earlier in the game and we had the better % as we improved through the second and third periods!
Great finish for Balmas! never seen 3 penalties scored by one player before. 2 points and move to the next.

The picture quality is shocking for the money. It's so blurry on a decent sized TV.

The Panthers stream from the night before had slightly better quality and the Cardiff stream is miles ahead.

All the other presentation aspects are good but yes it's better with two commentators.

That was 2 teams playing their defensive systems almost perfectly for any entire game, which is why it felt disjointed.

Whilst we didn't create anything like we would like, Giants only had 7 x 5 on 5 shots the entire game.

Essentially defensive masterclasses from both.

If the tracking is to be believed, the chances were (Sheffield first):

High danger 8 to 2
Mid danger 13 to 9
Low danger 34 to 27

That suggests we created quite a lot more in terms of grade A chances.

Simpson was comfortably our best at faceoffs, winning 13 of 19.

And this is why Fox was happy. I struggle on first watch to not get frustrated when things don't seem to be flowing, but on second watch it's much easier to be objective. Giants played exactly as I would expect a short benched team to play - compact, clog up the neutral zone and passing lanes, and try and get one on a break/PP.

Both teams played very well, with us probably edging it.

Those two early penalties really killed our start - I think it's a very different game without those

Are you sure it isn’t your internet connection. I receive it on an Apple Mac laptop from full fibre and watch it on a 45 inch tv. It all looks perfect to me! Certainly look on a par with panthers the night before to me.

No, my connection and speed is very high. Fibre.

It's the fact that the streaming quality doesn't go any higher than 1080p when I use it.

Maybe the Panthers one was the same but Cardiff's goes up to 4k picture quality automatically, same with other services like NHL TV.

I appreciate it might not be possible for the Steelers to stream up to 4k but then they shouldn't be charging £16 for 1 game in my opinion if that's the case.
