You really ought to listen according to Simms and Fearnley Thompson best coach steelers ever had. Expected Simms to say that but Fearnley? But just for one game blaisdale got the nod but if it was going to be for a season Thompson would have got vote. According to Simms the reason we had a bad last season (nothing about before) was injuries, Correct me if I am wrong but this season has been bad for injuries. It’s wasn’t Thompson’s fault. According to Simms Thompson better now than he had ever been?

The perfect example of the absolute garbage that man talks and 100% vindicates why I and many others wont bother listening to the obvious ramblings of PT's Flunky... apple-polishing at its best :zip:

I watched all 3 episodes.

It wasn’t quite a bad as I thought it would be.

Seth has gone down a little in my estimation though.

PT hockey is the worst hockey I have seen in my 21 years of watching the Steelers. He isn’t head a shoulders the best coach the Steelers have ever had.

I watched bits of the videos, but not full episodes.

Their arguement for PT being the best head coach was for all the behind-the-scenes improvements he made. This is fair, however, a coach is hired to coach players, not to do another behind-the-scenes stuff.

While, as a mere fan, I probably can't appreciate all the behind-the-scenes work that PT did, I do believe the club is now running at a higher level and able to compete in Europe, and I do believe that this is down to PT (and others).

However, as a fan, I mostly judge by what happens on the ice and unfortunately for PT, the on-ice product was not the best in the EIHL era in my opinion.

For me, the best coaches were Blaisdell and Simon (technically Matsos won the most but with dull hockey).

PT, with his wealth of experience, would make a great general manager/director of hockey but I'd rather have one the two mentioned above as my coach.

But they say he was the best coach. Behind the scenes stuff isn't coaching, it's admin. If I was a coach, would I like to have PT (+ attendant baggage) as my DoH? No way

Saying he is brilliant behind the scenes in the back office is hardly a glowing reference for a coach though is it? I mean Betty was brilliant in the office but no disrespect to Betty I wouldn't want her as coach.

Also I haven't heard any complaints about Aaron Fox's ability in the off ice office and recruitment etc and he is pretty well thought of as the actual on ice coach too.

Shaun does a sterling job in managing the other day to day general manager duties and flights, visas and accommodation and so forth..

Also remember Ben Simon, well he did both really well.. Talk to big Neil Abel and he will tell you how hard that guy worked off the ice in the office!

Saw the last 10 mins.

Seth said PT put us on a par with AHL and SHL Teams in terms of the non-playing side.

Simms admitted Blaisdell was a more entertaining coach.

Fearnley said Matsos had best record and was questioning PT results, which is when Simms cried injuries. As I recall he seemed to be losing player respect towards the end. Then recruited a shocking side.

Just glad the ended up not choosing PT. Can’t argue too much with the rest, although technically Bronsard was the best goalie.

I actually thought the final team was reasonable but would have a few differences 2-3 in my team.
You could argue against Simpson because his EIHL form was moderate.
I would argue for Peron ahead of Finnerty every day of the week.
I wasn't convinced that woolhouse as back up would be your best ever EIHL option. I know you need your brit numbers but would either Hewitt or Thomas be a better alternative brit option?
Suggesting Thompson as best coach was laughable of course. The more time went on the worse we got. Surely if he was the best coach ever it should have been the opposite. A coach is judged by on ice not off ice.
I do think Fearnley was the only one of the three not choosing options based upon whether they were good buddies or not with one of the three being particularly obvious about that.
