Looking at the route map on Steelers twitter, it looks like you're correct.
I can't say I'm overly enthusiastic because of his age. It doesn't look like an upgrade to the likes of Sauce, but I'm sure Fox has his plan.

He's definitely wait and see, but if we'd have signed him last summer I'd have been pretty excited - top points scoring D man on a team that struggled in the DEL, whilst only being -9 on the season. He'll have played against DEL top lines all year so to me would have been ideal, even given his age.
I think if Fox picks up another strong puck moving D to play with either Tansey or Huttula then I think overall we look good.
I think I mentioned it previously, but the direction of travel does seem to be a steady decline.
A positive I've just noticed though, he did finish top of the +/- in the French League playoffs last season.
Looks like when he got his game head on and meant business in the important games, he could perform.

See I wouldn't say decline, given he went from Slovakia to the DEL. It's only last year going to France that suggests he may have dropped off slightly. France is so difficult to judge though - such a mix of ability in that league.
A wait and see but I expect him to be an upgrade on Guimond. Whether he is an upgrade on Sauce is the question. If he is, it's a great signing. If not, then probably an ok one
Interesting read on the official site. Fox has been after him for the last 2 summers. He's also won multiple championships and was 7th in D scoring in his year in the DEL, whilst playing on a team that was 11/14 in scoring (so less 2nd assists likely) and finished last. He's also on an MBA with Hallam so guess his stock in Europe is still pretty high despite his age.
States he wants to win (of course), but given the guy seems like a serial winner, it definitely sounds like the right character you need. He's also mates with Tansey, Sauce and Watling so likely an easy fit in the room.
It looks like he's doing a Masters at Hallam, which is always good to see.
He adds a bit of size and sounds like he can play an attacking or defensive role quite well, so it will give Fox options.
Assuming we'd already got our 1, 2 and 3 d already sorted, he should be a decent addition as 4th or 5th d (assuming Kelly is one of the 6).

He's definitely 4th/5th currently. Coming round to the fact on paper, this is probably a really smart signing. Depends on the last D, but we should be looking solid.
