Season Tickets 26/27 massive price increase

I've not seen anything official, but assume season ticket sales are down substantially this season.

My mate always gets our tickets the first day they go on sale, because we like to sit in the lower tier.

The last couple of seasons he couldn't find anything suitable in the middle blocks, so we had to go 119.

This season he didn't have any problem getting us seats in 116 (you poor souls in that block).

And usually after a few weeks of going on sale they say such and such a number already sold. Silence has been deafening this year so do assume season ticket sales down.

Ive also seen on several social media post... both official and unofficial where their socials have been tag in... where that question has been directly asked of them and as of yet not once has the answer been forth coming... Remember also the deadline being extended a further week to cover end of monthly pay day cut offs or something to that effect... ive never seen that before...

I suspect it was with a heavy heart that Tony increased the prices like he did, because he will have known what the reaction would be.

Supporters are already been squeezed with increased costs elsewhere, particularly utility bills, so there's less in the pot for luxury spends like ice hockey

Unfortunately I suspect Tony didn't have much choice, because the arena probably wanted a substantial increase in rent to cover their own cost increases.

I just hope it doesn't impact crowds and the business too much. It's always much more enjoyable watching hockey in a full arena.

I did wonder if the reason we've not heard anything further on the swing import was down to budget restrictions.....hopefully not.

Worrying times really.

They posted an article a couple months back saying they’re on track for a record number of season tickets sold so can’t see them been significantly down as suggested above….

As for the swing guy it has nothing to do with budget as to why he haven’t announced one.

Hi Zakatron, I really hope you're correct on the season ticket sales.

I'm just going on what my mate told me from his experience of booking tickets. We stopped with season tickets years ago when they changed the faceoff times on Sunday.

Now we block book Saturday night games as soon as they go on sale. For the last two or three years we've been unable to get anything suitable in Blocks 115, 116, 117 or 118, so we switched to 119.

This season he said there was more choice in our preferred blocks, so we're back there. We both presumed this was down to fewer season ticket holders this season in those blocks.

As for the swing guy, I've no info on that, it's just me wondering out loud why nothing has been announced yet after Fox hinted it was imminent. Hopefully we'll hear something soon.

One thing this whole cockup-on-the-ticket-pricing debacle has thrown light onto is the arbitrary nature of the added on fees. You might give the Steelers and/or the arena the benefit of the doubt and assume that they were a fixed fee calculated to cover certain overheads relating to the ticketing and venue infrastructure. However, we saw that when the tickets went on sale at erroneous prices that the fees had also gone up compared to what they've finally settled on, which demonstrates that the fees are something someone is just making up as they go along, and canot be directly related to fixed costs or there wouldn't have been any scope for getting them wrong.

In May, there was a little bit of discussion around this article further back in this thread.

As I posted in May, I'm afraid I don't agree with the article and I still believe that season ticket sales are down compared to last season, hence the extension in the deadline and 'more great seats available'.

Surely, if we'd got a record number of season tickets holders @Doom would be sitting in 119?

I'd also expect to see the club post a further article saying that season ticket sales are at record levels etc. They're not usually shy about things like that.
