GAME THREAD: Storm v. Steelers. Tues, 27th April.

Steelers goal! Again against the run of play, but Dowd & Olden go on a counter attack & the latter lifts over Bonar!

Beaudry weak on the goal.
Steelers not as fast as usually are. Transition wasn't happening. Has Aaron told d to reign in their jumping into play early in two game series?
I must say about Olden. He knows his defensive responsibilities and usually makes some great d zone plays every game. Just need more from him in offence.

Overall I am disappointed in Olden to be honest, early on in the series you could tell his class, but to some extent the series has found him out a little bit. When the early games where open and flowing and teams were not up to speed he dominated play. You can still see his skill and talent for sure but he seems to be cruising through games with reduced effort now, weather that's down to him cruising threw a meaningless series to him or the opersition getting better, I can't tell.. I would have Valley and Deluca over him on his present form...

Storm goal. It’s a hattrick for Maxime Fortier as he’s allowed to glide in unchallenged and snipes.

3-4.

2nd ends 3-4 Steelers.

Fortier running the show, although not difficult if you allow a player if his quality to do what he likes.

Steelers struggled to compete with the intensity and physicality of Manchester in the first half of that, although after the Olden goal that improved a little.

Still need a lot more.

Terrible first thirty minutes.
Lethargic and disjointed.
Shulze and Beaudry were having terrible games in own d zone.
Olden seemed to then start to switch it on. Dowd and Eberle driving the team on.
Storm have one player-now scored a hattrick. You'd think we'd be more wary when he's on the ice.

It was quality Bryan, your right, but in a way it underlines my point, I am sure he takes it easy for a great deal of the game, and he obviously has the talent to contribute more often.. He is an excellent player no doubt about it...
