I'm from Leicester (family is from Sheffield) and I love the Yorkshire chants.

The acoustics aren’t great at the arena, sit too high and you can’t hear a thing, sit too low and you get deafened.

Either way, there needs to be balance.

If I go to a game with my 18 year son or on my own, I’m totally focussed on the game. If I take friends or new people, I get involved in the atmosphere. So the noise is important. I’d imagine that when I eventually become a grandparent, the atmosphere will be more important than the game again.

It’s all about phases and stages of life I guess.

I thought that the volume / pitch was much worse on Sunday so much so that it was beginning to hurt my ears.
I sit in the bottom tier and normally find it loud but hey that's just me and I can accept that.
A lot of the announcements last for a very long time and there are so many of them that they virtually merge into one so that there are hardly any breaks to be able to speak to the person next to you, any further away than that and you have no chance.

I'd like to add to this every time there is a stoppage regardless of if there's a decent chant going the white house plays music and kills it dead. Only happens when it's Simms in the Whitehouse never when it's Dows up there.

Edit. I'd be happy with more Yorkshire chants, should do one of those when the Yorkshire flag is being skated around.

It’s a fine line between ‘getting people involved’ and being incredibly annoying.
The latter is way out in front by some considerable distance.

The music during warm up and in between period breaks is far to loud.
People do a want to talk and discuss the game at these points and anyone with hearing difficulties or someone who perhaps struggles to speak over a certain level will find it extremely uncomfortable to cope.

It’s Mr Simms though so I expect nothing to change whatsoever.

Couldn't agree more, conversation was almost impossible even pre-game. It's simply unnecessary to have the volume level we have which isn't helped by the poor quality sound system.

Apart from the sound being too loud (I'm old and grumpy according to the wife) I find the announcements really easy to hear must be where we sit. As for the Yorkshire chants I could listen to those all night 😀

Agreed, music is waay too loud, however I have to say the whole music playlist at the moment is pants - feels like I’m at a 18 y/o party - where’s steeltown gone, where’s thunderstruck gone to name but two? (Admittedly showing my age and and years attending there!)

Appreciate its emotive and what one person likes is not someone’s else’s cup of tea, but please put some variety in and cater for all your audience rather than a small portion and finally please turn the volume down a touch so I don’t have to shout to have a conversation.

Going to Steelers is a social experience. We have many friends there. In the intervals we want to talk about the game, the players, the tactics, as well as generally setting the world right. None of this is possible when deafened by loud but indistinct announcements. For goodness sake just turn it down a little

Living over 250 miles away I can't get to home games very often but, when I do, it's nice to catch up with folk I know. That is impossible with the noise levels I've encountered in the last couple of visits. Do I really have to learn lip reading? By all means, blast away during play but give us a break during the intervals.
