Elite League chairman Tony Smith says they’ve always believed in the value of the product after Premier Sports were announced as the new sponsor.
The three-year deal sees the continuation of the working relationship they’ve had following recent coverage on Premier’s sister channel, FreeSports.

I love the fact we have a league sponsor now, and tied into a broadcasting company is even better, but I hope they freshen up the programing a bit, but the whole Aron Murphy 80's throwback cheesy cringe commentary is getting very tiresome..

I think that is good news for the league. I remember reading at one point a few years ago that Tony said that clubs had to pay Freesports (or $ky) to get matches on the tv. Hopefully this deal will generate some revenue for the league. Premier sports is quite a niche product and channel so I think the potential for growth would be somewhat limited, but certainly better than no deal at all. I would have loved to seen it on $ky or even the BBC.
I'd agree that Mr Murphy's commentary is a little cringe worthy, but I can't deny the love of the game that he has which shows through. I'd hope Chris Ellis is still part of the broadcasting team too.

Yeah apparently Ellis will still be involved as will Paul Adey.

Although sometimes cringeworthy with some of his old-school sayings, Aaron Murphy is both a very knowledgeable and passionate commentator. He certainly knows what he is talking about. Always has time for fans of hockey as well. Great news for the league and I for one will look forward to the coverage.
