After watching the highlights I'm struggling to see where the fighting penalty on Vallerand is justified, doesn't look like he threw any punches, wasn't interested and just held on.

Yeah, I said at the time that his 5 minutes for fighting was a stretch of the imagination

If he'd fully turtled up then would agree, but he didn't. He stayed upright and in it - as a ref you want it to be that fight and settled so just calling both for 5 is standard and usually diffuses the situation.

And yet if he'd turtled he would have received more punches so I can see where he wanted to hang on, disappointing because it punishes the instigator and victim the same amount.

I thought it was a disappointing game, yes we won comfortably, but it seemed like the team were going through the motions, there seemed to be a lot of incomplete, bad passes and an almost lackadaisical approach.
Overall I wasn’t particularly entertained.
